STAYING SAFE AT THE EUROS IN GERMANY

The eagerly anticipated Euros start this Friday (14th June) through to Sunday 14th July, here are some top tips on how to stay safe and secure if you are travelling out to Germany to watch any of the games.
- Ensure you have the right level of insurance cover
- Research, understand, and respect the local laws, beliefs, and culture of Germany
- Stay alert when inside and around the stadiums, take note of emergency exits and procedures
- Only buy official tickets through official means (UEFA), you can find ticket information of the Euro 2024 website (https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/ticketing/)
- Plan your transportation between the venues and your accommodation in advance
- Monitor local and international news for incidents or disruptions
- Take care with your language when talking with officials, avoid comments which could be considered offensive
- Beer can be strong in Germany! You may not be allowed in the stadium if you drink too much
- Do not wear attire which could cause offence - clothing with religious, political, historical connotations etc.
- Do not discuss contentious topics in public or online - e.g., history, politics, religion
- Avoid involvement in any fan violence, the police may respond more aggressively than usual

- Identify safe havens such as police stations or welfare points
- Locate suitable medical facilities before travel
- At each stadium you should identify a rally point in case of separation - you should identify one at each end of the venue.
