What You’ll Learn

Throughout the course, you will develop the full spectrum of skills required to operate professionally within the close protection industry. Training begins with the core foundations of close protection: your responsibilities, legal considerations, and the expectations placed on a modern CP operative.

You will learn how to assess threats, evaluate risks, and plan secure operations using structured, proven methodologies. Planning modules include reconnaissance, route selection, operational orders, and contingency planning, allowing you to build realistic, actionable operational plans.

Legal frameworks, communication strategies, teamwork and leadership are taught to ensure you can operate confidently within diverse environments. Practical training includes escort formations, foot drills, systematic search procedures and embus/debus techniques.

You will learn how to recognise terrorist threats, manage conflict safely and apply lawful physical intervention techniques, whilst the course’s first aid components prepare you for medical emergencies.

The programme concludes with a live operational scenario to test and consolidate every skill learned.
