Why you need to take this course:

In 2021 the SIA made some changes to the training you need to take before you can get a front line SIA licence. One change was the introduction of top-up training for close protection operatives who apply to renew their SIA licence. The top-up training will take five days to complete and will come into effect from 01 October 2022. Full details here

Renewing your licence:

Your SIA licence will not renew automatically. You must apply for a renewal if you want to keep working in the same role when your current licence expires. You can apply to renew your licence 4 months before your current licence expires. You should submit your renewal application as soon as you can. Applying early gives the SIA more time to process your application, which reduces the risk of you being unlicensed and unable to work. You will not lose time on your new licence by renewing early. The SIA will add any time left on your current licence onto your new one. Your new licence will be valid from the day the SIA grant it. Full details on licence renewal can be found here
